I got this TV less than 6 months ago. Luckily for me I was still under warranty. One year with Samsung and an additional year with Costco. One minute I had picture and sound, the next only sound. The Samsung technician agreed immediately it was an issue and told me I had to ship to their repair center in New Jersey. I still had the box so shipping was not a big deal. If I had not kept the box, it would have been very inconvenient.

I don't know if this is true but I read that the Samsung LCD HDTV has a well know problem of faulty video board which causes the picture to go out. The picture quality is pretty good, and it's one of the cheapest HD sets for this size. But there is only a SHARED component/composite input so you can only have one device of either type plugged in at a time. (Composite switchboxes are easy to pick up, but good luck finding a switch box that handles both composite and component.) Since all the female plugs are in the back (none on the side, as mid and upper range TVs for easy access and switching of cables), this is very inconvenient. I researched TVs for 6 months and decided on this one. There were several things I was concerned about: glare, motion plus, speaker sound, etc. I have to say I couldn't be more pleased. Without going into too much detail for those of you on the fence, take my word and save 6 months of research and just get it. I considered 3D, LED, Plasma, Sony, LG, 120Hz, etc. This is the one to buy for the money - I took another risk and bought it from Amazon's Wearhouse Deals as an open item. Saved a TON of money, the TV was brand new, and the infamous Pilot Delivery service was great... set it up on the stand, made sure it worked. I was able to register the TV for warranty on Samsung's site and got 15 months. Needless to say, the picture is outstanding. Cheapest Samsung LN26B360 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

One of the features that Samsung says that their televisions have is an Alarm System that turns the TV on in the morning. That was the main reason I purchased Samsung TV. Most other TV's only have a sleep time off feature.

After receiving the TV and hooking it up, I could not get the alarm feature to work. I spent hours on the phone with a Samsung Customer Service Rep who finally insisted that is was FIOS cable's problem. I then called FIOS and spent an hour with them arguing. They insisted it had nothing to do with them and that it was the TV's problem. I called Samsung back and the first level CS advisor tried very hard for quite a while and finally transferred me to the 2nd level Technical support. After trying for quite a while and he put me on hold and came back saying:

"THE ALARM FEATURE ONLY WORKS IF YOU DO NOT RUN TV THROUGH A CABLE BOX". (only directly to the wall) Words escape me!!! What a joke, in this day and age of cable, I would call that fraudulent advertising.
